Onboarding

I got to work one day and a man was sitting in my office. I’d never seen him before, so I introduced myself. He introduced himself and said he was the new restaurant manager and was there to fill out new hire paperwork. I knew nothing about this new employee, so I called the hiring manager and learned that, yes, this man was to start work that day. This is the worst way to start a new hire. I scrambled to get his new hire paperwork together, to rearrange my schedule so I could give him a tour, and pass him off to the hiring manager. The hiring manager then introduced him to an employee for him to shadow for the day. There was no plan and there was no welcoming entry to his work. He didn’t work there very long. In this webinar, we’ll talk about creating a welcome onboarding experience and why it’s crucial to an employee’s job and lasting tenure.

Objectives:

  • Explain why the onboarding experience is crucial to improving employee retention and boosting morale

  • Describe what a great onboarding experience looks like

  • Explain how to maximize a new hire’s success through onboarding
